Amani Children’s Home provides full-time residential care to vulnerable children and youth in Nakuru, Kenya. However, our tropical region is prone to droughts and famines every three to five years which make staples like corn / maize, beans, and vegetables inaccessibly expensive as the seasons change. This project seeks to address the duel challenges of the current and future food insecurity. We seek
- Provide balanced, nutritious diets for all our children;
- Stockpile food for difficult seasons to caution effects of drought
- Invest in sustainable agriculture in our farm and energy solutions to ensure stability and sustainability.
